9月29日 New rideLast night we went out to test drive vehicles and came back as the proud owners of a 2004 Chevrolet TrailBlazer. Yay! It's a nice ride, Bryan and I both really like it. Roomy, comfy, comes with a towing package, decently priced, lower miles. Very fun to drive. I'm still working on selling my car. It's been an interesting experience, to say the least. Can't wait to just get it sold! Hope everything goes smoothy. And YAY for being Friday. Went out for dinner with Mike and Debby to Kip's, an Irish pub in St. Louis Park. Neat place, good food. Tomorrow we are going to Corey, Carrie & Carter's place for dinner and games. They are fun to hang out with! No other plans for the weekend, except to maybe clean a bit, do some laundry and relaxxxxx. Weekends ROCK. ROCK. ROCK. 9月27日 For Sale2001 Nissan Sentra GXE $6400 (Kelley Blue Book suggested retail is $8500) - 4 door sedan - Automatic transmission - 71,000 miles - Dark silver color - Reliable car- always starts (even in 40 below temps) - Fantastic condition, well maintained - Great gas mileage- 30 mpg - CD & AM/FM, XM satellite radio - Power steering, doors, windows & locks - Cruise control, dual front air bags - Non-smoker Email for more info or to test drive. 9月26日 New picturesI just posted the McNugget challenge pictures from last weekend. Enjoy!
Later that evening...
Spent a busy evening after work car shopping. We are looking at getting an SUV, maybe a CR-V or a Pilot. Did some test driving today and then went to Kinko's to send my paperwork off to the Malaysian consulate to process our marriage registration (2 years later...). Hope I remembered to send everything and I hope I get everything back in a timely manner! Also went and looked at some bed head/footboards and some dining rooms sets. Ah, wouldn't it be ncie to have an endless supply of money??
Yay for the Twins getting into the playoffs. Wonder how far they'll get this year.
Good night! 9月24日 Sunday morningWhy do weekends always go by so quickly? It's Sunday already. Got up pretty early this morning and I wish I could sleep in a little more. Made some breakfast of scrambled eggs and toast and am going to get ready for the day pretty soon. We are going to Ikea this morning, then heading over to Hooters for lunch, followed by shopping at the Mall of America. Sounds like a pretty good Sunday afternoon to me! Bryan has been watching the Ryder cup on TV.
All of my high school friends are organizing a trip back to Malaysia for the end of next year. I really hope it works out for us to all get back there at the same time. It's been YEARS since we've all been together. WAY too long. Bryan still hasn't met YC and all of my extended relatives. I haven't been home since Jan 2001, so almost 6 years now, crazy. Too bad I can't bring the Zoe with me though. Now THAT would be fun. 9月23日 McNugget challenge/Renaissance FestivalJennie and Tyler both completed the long-awaited McNugget challenge today, after 3 years of waiting, we all met at the McDonald's off Bass Lake Road. Jennie ate 30 nuggets and Tyler ate 50 nuggets. Gross. Pictures will be posted soon.
Went to the Renaissance Festival today with Bryan, Veronica and Justin. Had a great time walking around, looking at the kiosks and demonstrations, eating turkey legs, soup in bread bowls, etc. It started raining on us about halfway through, but it was fun nonetheless. 9月22日 Freakin' weekendI know I say this every week, but FRIDAYS rock. Why? Because it's followed by Saturday and then Sunday. Unfortunately, the weather today is cold, wet and drepressing. And not to mention, I've had a headache for half the day now. Veronica and Justin are coming to stay at our house tomorrow. Still have to clean up before they get here. We are planning to go to the Renaissance Festival tomorrow, but the weather forecast calls for rain, rain and more rain, so we might have to postpone until Sunday. Hope it's not too muddy! Yuck. 9月19日 Congrats JennieI'm feeling sick today. Not sure if it's allergies or if I'm sick. Took some Dayquil earlier today but it doesn't seem to be doing anything at all. I hope I feel better by this weekend. Wouldn't want to be ill for the Renaissance Festival.
On a totally unrelated note, I joined Facebook a couple of days ago. Look me up if you are on there. 9月17日 Saturdays ROCKSlept in this morning, until as late as I possibly could. Cleaned the house a bit and then headed to the General Store of Minnetonka to meet Jennie and her friend Lindsay for lunch. Had really good salad- they have such good food there and it's even better than it's 50% off with my coupon.
My mom, dad and bro will be here in town in just a month. Should be a good time. We are taking them to Bemidji and Grand Forks to check out the towns, universities, etc. It'll be fun to have them meet up with my friends, Bryan's family (whom they've already met in Vegas duing the wedding over 2 years ago).
Veronica (and maybe Justin) are coming to stay with us next weekend. I really hope that the weather is nice when we go to the Renaissance Festival. Next week is also when the famed "McNugget Challenge" is going to occur. It'll be... interesting... to watch that many nuggets get consumed. Gross. I might have a 6 pc. myself. Gotta save myself for the food at the Renaissance Festival, of course. The leaves are starting to change color, just a little itty bit. A tinge of orange and red, but mostly still green. It's pretty but means that it's going to get cold soon. Dang. I hope we have a warm fall and winter! One can only hope. Especially since it was warm until mid-November last year. 9月15日 First reaction1. I've come to realize that my ex...

Repost this as "Longest Survey" Tater tot hot dish!Phew. What a busy day. After work I went to Target and got a cart-load of groceries and other stuff, came home, made dinner (tater tot hot dish!! hahaha), did laundry, did dishes, that's enough for me! Bryan is downstairs cleaning the bathroom. Tomorrow I'll vacuum and clean the floors before our BBQ on Saturday. Good thing we have reasons for cleaning. So, speaking about the tater tot hot dish. I was kind of inspired by the Minnesota State Fair and their hot dish on a stick, so I looked up a recipe for tater tot hot dish and bought the ingredients to make it. Pretty easy to make, I hope it tastes halfway decent. First time I ever had that dish was at the UND dining hall. Which obviously wasn't the best place to try any food for the first time. Going to check on it right now...
Later that evening...
It turned out pretty well. I liked it. Made quite a bit too. Will have leftovers for a couple of days. Might be a bit overkill. I would have added a bit more soup to it, but otherwise, a success. Also, I've pretty much figured out this oven. Set the temp to 20-25 degrees higher than the recipe/package calls for. Same amount of time for the most part. It just needs a kick in the pants. Or whatever it is that ovens wear...
** Lots of people get to this website searching for a Tater Tot Hot Dish recipe, so here it is:
1 1/2 lbs ground beef
1 chopped onion pinch salt pinch ground black pepper 1 package tater tots, thawed 1 can cream of mushroom soup 1 can cream of celery soup 1 can French-fried onions - Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. - Cook ground beef with onion, salt and pepper; drain and spread into the bottom of a 9x13 inch baking dish. Add tater tots; mix cream of mushroom and cream of celery soup together and pour mixture over dish. Top with onion rings, if using. - Bake in oven for 1 hour. 9月13日 Come back summer!Went to the doctor for a check up today. Had to sit in traffic from St. Paul all the way home- took forever. Am glad I don't have to make that commute daily. Might look into changing clinics just for sanity's sake. Two workdays until the weekend. Going to the General Store of Minnetonka for their annual tent sale and we are having our end of summer BBQ. Many people can't make it, which is really too bad. Had dinner of a double cheeseburger and some nuggets. Hey! They are only a dollar. What can I say, sometimes you just need some Mickey D's. Zoe was a bit jealous and eyeing up the double cheeseburgers.
Also, if anyone has 2007 Twin Cities Entertainment/Happenings book coupons that they want to trade, let me know! 9月12日 The "old people" (out of high school) SurveyThe "old people" (out of high school) Survey Tired of all of those surveys made by High School kids? Season premiere of the Simpsons and Family Guy this evening. Yay! That's one nice thing about Fall- new TV shows. Another week of work up ahead. Next week we are having our BBQ and we are also going to the General Store of Minnetonka for their annual tent sale. Will have to start thinking about Christmas presents soon. *Gasp!* 9月9日 Scrapfest, apple orchard and James J Hills daysWow!! What a crazy busy day. Started out this morning by going to Scrapfest at the Mall of America. Made lots of interesting projects and stood in lines forever. I really need to pull out all my scrapbooking stuff and get back into it. Winter is usually a good time to scrapbook. After that, I came home and made lunch. Kim had emailed me a recipe for apple crisp so Bryan, Zoe and I headed out to the Minnetonka apple orchards and got some apples, cider and apple donuts. YUM!! I'm going to try out that recipe tonight. I also took Zoe to the James J Hill days in Wayzata, where we walked around the booths and art fair. Everyone loved Zoe ad stopped to pet her and say hi. 9月6日 Saving the world, one day at a timeI love Trader Joe's. Why? Because I can get in and out within 10 minutes and have great meals planned for the week. The downside is that it with all the traffic after work, it took me forever to get there and back. Annoying! Should have figured it out. Seems that summer vacations are coming to an end and people are not taking days off from work and instead, they are all trying to drive to work, which means I have to start leaving earlier in the morning. I'm ready for the weekend, but I guess I always am. Scrapfest at the Mall of America is on and I'm planning to go. Went two years ago and had a great time. Jennie's art fair in Edina is this weekend as well and I'll be helping her out there. And this weekend, Marshall Fields becomes Macy's. That'll be different. I love Fields. They have great service and nice products. I hope that doesn't change with the transition to Macy's. Time to throw the laundry into the dryer. G'nite! |
