Great weather weekend

Wow, what a beautiful day outside today. This is definitely a perfect weekend, in terms of weather. Zoe and I went on a run this morning and then I met up with Linda at the Mall of America for some shopping. Bryan has been painting our bedroom and it looks great. I can't wait to see it with the crown molding up and when our new bed comes. We are going out for dinner tonight at Woody's and then going to game night at Chris' condo. Tomorrow, we going to the 5-8 Club for some tasty Jucy Lucy burgers. YUM!

Hope everyone is having a great weekend and enjoying the weather!

Smoking ban passed!

While politics is usually not one of my favorite topics, I must say that I am so glad that both the house and senate passed a bill for a state-wide smoking ban. I can't stand coming home from a restaurant or bar and stinking of cigarette smoke, along with all the toxins that we are breathing in as well.

In other news, I went to the Twins game yesterday and saw Torii Hunter get hit in the face with a baseball. Ouch. Other than that, it was a pretty non-eventful game. This weekend is supposed to be gorgeous and I can't wait!  Guess it'll be perfect weather to paint and redecorate our bedroom.

It's allergy season

Allergies suck! I'm glad that I'm only allergic to two things, tree pollen and cats. I'd hate to suffer from year-long allergies. And I really don't believe in the "24-hour relief" of the allergy meds.

Took the Zoe dog to PetSmart this evening before going to Target to pick up groceries. I don't enjoy grocery shopping, but following a list, I can get out of there pretty quickly. Watched Notes from the Underbelly tonight, it was a pretty good show, but since I missed the first few episodes, I have no idea what's going on. I'm definitely going to have to make it a priority to invest in a TiVo. Just so we can watch tv more efficiently.

I'm going to a Twins game tomorrow with some co-workers, so that should be fun. Once again, we have a full weekend, with the main goal of painting our bedroom and installing crown molding (or is it moulding?). Besides that, Linda will be in town and I'll be going to meet her at the Mall of America for some shopping, Jennie is hosting a game night and I've got another cooking class at Williams Sonoma. Sometimes, life just goes by too quickly.

Summer is here!

As weekends usually go, this one went by quickly. We just got back from dinner at Veronica and Justin's apartment, they made a great salmon on the grill. Bryan has been busy working on making a couple of those ladder style leaning bookcases. We saw them in the Crate and Barrel catalog and since he made a pretty great looking scarf/hat rack that looks just like the one we saw in the Crate and Barrel store, I'm hoping ths bookcases are going to turn out nice a well. We picked out a paint color for the bedroom and will get started on the painting in the next few weeks. Another house project is installing a closet organization system. Busy busy! Summer is definitely on it's way and it's getting very nice outside. Met up with Rich, Steven and Jennie at Ridgedale today and walked around for a bit. On Friday evening, we went to dinner with Chris and Jennie's families at Wasabi in downtown Minneapolis. The hibachi chef did lots of great tricks and was way better than any we've ever seen at Benihana. For those of you familiar with the erupting volcano made with the onion rings, the volcano at Wasabi had FIRE. Impressive, I know. It was great to see Jerry and Karen again. Britani will be here this weekend and Mel and Steve will be here the week after that for the Walk for Animals. FUN! Zoe and I can't wait.

Virginia Tech

What a horrible massacre at Virginia Tech this morning. I can't believe what happened. It's really sad that people will hurt each other in this way. Kim lives in Blacksburg and her husband Richie attends Virginia Tech. I'm glad to hear that he's okay. How scary! My sympathies go out to all who were affected by this tragedy.

Bedroom furniture

Bryan and I went to Slumberland after dinner and we got new bedroom furniture (headboard, footboard and side rails). We won't get it until June because it's all sold out until then, which is okay by me, it'll give us time to repaint the bedroom and look for other coordinating pieces. Yay!  And YAY for the weekend!

People sure love the Jake O'Connors

Looks like it's been a while since I've posted an entry. Just been busy with work, learning, training and trying to do it well. It's pretty challenging since the info is all new to me. So much easier to train as an expert when you are one.  We got some spring snow yesterday and it's all melting away today, which is a-okay with me! I'm ready for some warm summer temps. Bryan actually has a tee time on Sunday, which I think is crazy! We are going to Wenker's wedding on Saturday and Brett will be in town for a hockey tourney, so I'm sure we'll go to some games. Easter last weekend was nice, but flew by way too quickly, as most holidays and weekends tend to. We've also been busy planning a summer road trip to Chicago and Milwaukee. I've never really taken a road trip with Bryan before and I'm excited to go! We've booked Zoe at the PetSmart hotel that we toured a couple of months ago. Happy Spring to everyone! (except those folks in Australia, then Happy Autumn to you guys!) Only about 3 weeks until the Walk for Animals. Yay!

Go Twins!

Happy April! It's been a very draining day today. I taught my very first training class at work. Which is great because I've been there almost two months now and still trying to learn everything. I think my class went okay, definitely could have been more interesting, but I'm trying to become familiar with the material as well. I hope my future classes are more successful. I enjoyed getting to know my students, it's always interesting to hear about everyone's background and experiences.

Right now, I'm watching the Twins home opener on TV and it looks like the Twins are going to win. Sounds like they have a strong team this year. Maybe they'll go all the way and win the World Series? Crazier things have happened.
