4月30日 Another weekendIt's Sunday night, the end of a very rainy weekend. On Saturday, Jennie and I went for brunch at the Original Pancake House in Wayzata. We had to wait a while for a table, but it was well worth it! The food was awesome. Then we headed over to David's Bridal in Maple Grove, where I had an appointment to try on bridesmaid's dresses for Kim's wedding. Tried on about 7 dresses and Jennie took pictures. I emailed them to Kim for her opinion. Then I came home and hung out with Bryan, my top salesman husband, who worked earlier that morning. We went out to dinner at a Malaysian restaurant called Rasa Sayang in Golden Valley. The food was pretty good, but the place really had no ambience. It's also located in a residential area, so that was a bit odd. After dinner, we went to the Marshall's house and played Scene It. Rich and I won the first game (I apparently am not so bad at movie trivia!! Ha!) and Bryan and Kyrsten won the second game. We got home pretty late at night and slept in on Sunday morning, which was AWESOME.
We lazed around in the morning then headed over to Ikea to pick up stuff for the house. Got curtains, throw pillows for the guest bedroom and a clock. We also met the Marshalls there and ate with them at Ikea's cafe. Bryan and I spent most of the evening hanging curtains, Bryan installed new lights in the guest bedroom and I cleaned out most of the small room. Only a few more boxes left! We went to Home Depot earlier and I looked at some paint colors. The room looks a bit boring and I've got sheer dark purple curtains in there now and I'm thinking of painting the room a light lilac color. Am also considering taking down the border that's up in our master bedroom. We'd eventually like to put up crown moulding/molding in the living room. The other project we've got for the summer is to repaint the garage. It's not a very large area, but the old paint has just been weathered over time. Ah, plenty of projects to keep us busy this summer!
This week is going to be pretty busy at work. I've got lots of training to do. Bryan and I are going to a Twins game and this weekend will be super busy as well. We are doing the Walk for Animals, it's Eric and Denise's wedding, our neighbor is having a block party and there is an event at a hotel in downtown Minneapolis that you can bring your dog to! Plus, Melissa and Harley will be coming to stay with us. I love having lots of fun things to look forward to. It's nice that there's always something going on in the Twin Cities, instead of in GF where you'd be looking for damn near anything halfway decent to do. It's nice to be selective on what you do on your free time. And, we love being in this house!! It's everything we've been looking for in a place and we love the location, the size and just about everything else! I can honestly say I have no regrets about buying this place!  4月29日 Congratulations Tyler!Wooooohooooooooo!!!! My friend Tyler just proposed... and she said yes!
I'm so very excited for them. Go Ty!!Last night, Bryan and I went out to dinner at View in Calhoun with Jennie, Chris, Jan, Rob, Corey, Carrie and baby Carter. It was Jan's going away dinner as she and Rob are moving to Louisville, Kentucky for Rob's residency. This morning, Jennie and I are going to brunch, then to David's Bridal for me to try on bridesmaids dresses for Kim's wedding in August. We are going to take lots of pictures to send to Kim, since she is living in Virginia right now. I can't wait for her to come visit.
The weather has been cold and rainy. Yuck. I've found a couple of Malaysian restaurants I'd like to try on www.citypages.com (LOVE that website). I've never been to a Malaysian restaurant in Minnesota before. Can't believe I never thought to go before.

Dammit, Otto, you have lupus! • When I was on acid, I would see things like beams of light. And I would hear things that sounded an awful lot like car horns. • I bought myself a parrot, and it could talk. But it did not say it was hungry, so it died. • I got to smoke fake pot with Peter Frampton [on the set of "Almost Famous"]. That's a cool story. It's as cool as smoking real pot with a guy who looks like Peter Frampton. I've done that way more. 4月27日 HOUSE PICTURES!!Okay, finally, after about a month of procrastination and being bugged from everyone, I've taken pictures of the whole house and uploaded them!! TiredFor some reason, I feel really tired today. I think it's the allergies that are really getting me down. I called the clinic today and the person I spoke with said to just take some over the counter meds. This is my first time ever with allergies and it sucks. She said it was probably from tree pollen and that it's quite bad this year. Should go away by May sometime. The sooner the better. Mainly, it's just my eyes that have been itching, accompanied by some occasional sneezing.
 This evening, after I work out, I'm going to take Zoe to get a heartworm test done.  She's overdue for it this year. I'm sure she's not going to enjoy that one bit. I've also got to run some errands, return a library book, go to Lund's, maybe pick Zoe up some yummy Frosty Paws doggy ice-cream. YUM!! It's summertime weather out now, I figure that works! Got to go get some expensive gas... boy has that been rising lately. Makes me glad I drive a 30 mpg very fuel economical car.  Am already looking forward to the weekend. Why do I say this EVERY week? I promise to take pictures around the house tonight and to upload as many as I can.  I have to use Netscape browser to upload and usually only two or three at a time. Still having issues with uploading to MSN Spaces using Internet Explorer and it doesn't look as though they are doing anything to fix this! ARGH!!!! FIX IT PLEASE!! Look out for them Hump day It has been 10 years since the nuclear accident occured in Chernobyl. I hope that never, ever happens again, anywhere. What a horrible tragedy. I was looking through an online photo book of the long term damage that it had on young children. Really sad that so many innocent lives were ruined.Anyway, yesterday I got my free Ben & Jerry's ice-cream cone and it was yummy!! I also got my hair cut at Aveda and joined Curves. Busy day! Tonight, I have the book club meeting, but I've only read half the book!  I hope that's okay. Really just ran out of time. Jennie and I are going to David's Bridal this weekend for me to try on bridesmaid's dresses for Kim's wedding in August. The weather is becoming nice again, I hope this weekend is rain free. I'd like to go to the Minnesota Zoo. Never been there before. Tomorrow Zoe is getting her annual heartworm test at Petco. Fun. I'm sure she is going to hate getting that done. I think they draw blood. She is not a fan of needles, as I'm sure most dogs aren't! We got invited to a neighborhood block party!! It's on the same day as the Walk for Animals and Eric & Denise's wedding. That's going to be one VERY busy weekend! Melissa will be coming that weekend too! YAY!! Are you going to bring just Harley or are any of the other pups joining us? The guest room is all ready for you! 4月24日 Getting stuff doneWoooosh! I've gotten a lot done around the house this evening. I probably should have been reading my book club book, but instead, when I got home, I had dinner, took a nap, shortened our curtains, did laundry and the dishes! I also brushed Zoe out. She was pretty good about it. Tomorrow, I'm getting my hair cut at Aveda. It's by donation and goes towards the Earth Day charity. It'll be at the Southdale Center in Edina. Tomorrow is also FREE CONE DAY at BEN & JERRY'S!! Woohoo! What's better in life than free ice-cream?? Bryan went golfing with a few of his co-workers and I went shopping. Found some clothes, kitchen stuff and chocolate! I have the outfit that I'm going to wear to Eric & Denise's wedding. There are some cute stores there. It's a beautiful day outside, about 70 degrees. Perfect day to just laze around.
 Zoe had two pup friends come over into our yard. One was a yellow lab named Summer and the other dog was a white husky looking dog. Zoe didn't really appreciate them in our yard, getting attention from HER humans. 4月22日 TreatsThis morning, I took Zoe D Dog to Lulu and Luigi's in Wayzata for some treats. She got a few bakery goodies and we stopped by Wuolett's Bakery for a treat to bring home for Bryan. After I dropped Zoe off at home, I headed over to the Shoppes at Arbor Lakes in Maple Grove and looked around for a bit. It's a beautiful day outside and it was nice to walk around the outdor mall.  Now we are headed to Golf Galaxy so Bryan can exchange a golf club. Happy Weekend!!4月21日 My claim to fameHappy Friday! Could possibly be my most favorite day of the week, besides Saturday and Sunday, of course. I'm going to the book club meeting this Wednesday and I still haven't read the book! *gasp* I've got one more book to finish before I even start that one. My co-worker just came up to me and told me that I was on last night's news on KARE 11!! I was buying my lunch downstairs at work and camera crews were there (not the first time) and I figured it was just for some promotional thing. Didn't realize it was for the evening news! He said I was on there for about 10 seconds or so, buying my food. I can't wait until the Global Marketplace opens. There are going to be lots of vendors, restaurants, etc. We've had a great sampling of them every Thursday here at work and it'll be hard to resist eating there everyday once it opens. I've heard it opens in about a month. I hope they are on track with that. Don't have too much planned for this weekend. Have to clean the house and might head to Stillwater for some shopping on Sunday morning. They are having an art fair there too, so I might go visit that... 4月20日 Chino LatinoHad dinner last night at Chino Latino in Uptown with Bryan, Skyler, Jennie and Chris. Had a great time. It's Thursday today, only two work days left till the weekend! On Sunday, Bryan is going to golf with some co-workers in Stillwater (about 40 mi away) and Jennie and I are going to tag along to go shopping. It's early in the morning right now and I need to get ready for work. I love our house!! It's perfect for us. Zoe is getting settled in here and roaming her backyard. The garage is all fixed up and good to go. I still have to sort thru some boxes and hang some curtains and we'll be set! Derek and Adam came into town on Friday evening and went golfing with Linda and Bryan on Saturday afternoon. I met Jennie at Ikea and bought stuff for the house. We got our king size bed and I went to Bed Bath and Babushka and bought sheets for it- they are green and lightly striped. Goes with our purple walls. Bryan and his brothers spent Sunday working in the garage, getting our new garage door opener installed. Jennie, Becki and Jason joined us for Easter dinner, which I picked up at Target the day before and spent about 2 hours heating up on Sunday afternoon. We ate at about 6pm. Food was pretty good. It was fun using or wedding china for the first time. After dinner we went for a walk by the lake. Overall a good and productive weekend. Next weekend I've got a haircut appointment at Aveda and I'm thinking of making a tee time for the par-3 Theodore Wirth golf course in Golden Valley. Yay for good weather! 4月16日 Happy EasterHappy Easter and Passover to all who celebrate. It's the end of yet another weekend and almost the beginning of another work week. Tonight we are having everyone over for Easter dinner. We have lots of food, it's going to be good! If not, I'll just blame Target.
 Right now, I'm watching Cirque du Soleil's La Nouba on the Bravo channel. I didn't realize that they showed these on TV. Of course it's nothing compared to the real stage show. If you've never seen a Cirque show live and have the opportunity to, take it! It's definitely worth it. I've never met anyone who wasn't impressed! They are showing my favorite part now- where the people are on the trampoline, jumping into the different "windows" of the building. I don't know how they do it with such accuracy and make it look SO easy! There are some very talented people out there. Looks like they are airing Varekai on Bravo next Sunday. Will have to remember to watch that. Watching these performances give me goose bumps!!I feel like going shopping today but of course since it's a holiday, everything is closed. There are a few stores here and there that are open but not enough to warrant a trip anywhere. Next week we are going to dinner with Skyler at Chino Latino. Should be fun.
I've still got to read my book for the book club I'm going to. There just isn't enough time in the day! 4月15日 King sizedWe got a king size bed! Linda gave us one from her guest bedroom at her house. So now we put our queen size bed into the guest suite. I'm going to Ikea and buying king size bedding. YAY! Thanks Mel, Brit & V for the Ikea gift card- it'll come in VERY handy! Linda, Derek, Bryan and I have been up early doing things around the house. The beds are in their places and everything is really coming together. I've got to go to Target to pick up the food for Easter dinner along with some other stuff. I don't know if I'm getting sick of if it's allergies, but I've been very sneezy lately!  Yuck. I hope I feel better soon. I'm so glad it's the weekend. It's been in the news quite a bit lately, as the solution might cause a certain type of fungus eye infection. GROSS! That's the brand that Bryan and I use and I've rounded up our bottles, ready to send back to Bausch & Lomb and quickly switched to a different brand. That is my public service annoucement tip of the day!Someone was shotAn employee who works at the building where I work got shot while waiting for a bus yesterday around the corner from the office. They sent an email out about it yesterday and had a safety conference today. A ton of people attended and there were police officers, security, HR, etc. There were some really good questions asked, but there really were not straightforward answers given. Everyone is really concerned about the safety and security of the area that we work in. I hope I don't get shot!! I'll never walk around this area again!! If my car breaks down, I'll call for a ride, promise!! On the positive, the person who was shot did not get seriously injured. Thank goodness.
I'm so glad it's the weekend!! YAY! Linda got here two nights ago and yesterday, we took the Zoe for a walk around the lake (took us an hour) and then went to the cute shops by Wayzata Bay to look around and had dinner at D'Amico and Sons. It was very tasty. I think we are all going to eat at Sunsets tonight. Derek and Adam are coming to visit this weekend and we are having a bunch of people over for Easter dinner on Sunday. I LIVE FOR THE WEEKEND. 4月12日 Getting out early rocks!Got out of work at 3:00PM today! Woohoo!! Still about the same amount of traffic. So I guess 4:30PM isn't such a bad time to leave. Linda is coming tonight. Have you guys heard about how many stores are pulling the ReNu brand of contact lens solution from their shelves because they are still conducting tests about whether it's linked to some fungus that can grow in your eye?? GROSS. That's the brand that we use. I just bought a big two pack of the stuff from Sam's Club that I'll return. Need to go buy a different brand of solution. It's another BEAUTIFUL day outside. In the 70s. Very nice the sunny out. It's supposed to rain later this week but I hope it doesn't. Thanks to everyone who reads my blog! It's awesome to see my statistics go up up up!
