    Fundraising update

Yay! I'm almost at my fundraising goal for the 2007 Animal Humane Society Walk for Animals. Everyone has been so generous and supportive. If you would like to help me reach my goal, please go to this website: http://events.animalhumanesociety.org/goto/ZoeDiggity Thank you!

I'm also excited because Melissa and Steve are coming for the Walk for Animals as well. It's been quite a while since I've seen Mel and it'll be great to catch up. I hope Britani will be able to make it as well. I also hope that the weather will be nice for the day of the walk. The weather has been cool and rainy the past few days. Doesn't look like it's supposed to get warmer anytime too soon.

Today is Wednesday, which means only two work days until the weekend. Don't have much planned, Roth will be in town and staying at our house. Maybe a good weekend to relax and watch movies inside while it rains and pours outside. It only means that the grass will be green soon. (I'd like to think that I'm somewhat optimistic!)

    Change that to 81 degrees!

What an absolutely gorgeous day outside today! We had high temperatures of 81 degrees today. Got out of work early because my director told us to go and enjoy the weather. So, I came home, grabbed a blanket to lay on and some magazines to look through. Jennie came and joined me after work and we talked as we enjoyed the sunshine in my backyard. What a perfect day! I love having a place to hang out when it's so nice outside. Too bad the temps are supposed to be back in the 40s by the end of this week. Hopefully, it'll get nicer again for Easter. We are planning brunch with a big group of friends and family at Sunsets in Wayzata.

    75 degrees!

It's supposed to be 75 degrees tomorrow! Woohoo! The average high for this time of year is usually 46 degrees. It's actually the same temperature in Las Vegas as it is here right now. Had a busy weekend, Linda stayed at our house and we did lots of shopping yesterday. Went to the General Store of Minnetonka, Arbor Lakes and Albertville. Also went to Brett's hockey game and then for dinner at Major's in Blaine. Roth will be here next weekend and then Linda again the wekeend after that, for Easter. The summer is going to be here in no time!

    F.R.I.D.A.Y.

Yay, as you faithful readers know, it's almost my favorite work day of the week- Friday!  That's enough cause for celebration! We have a super busy weekend coming up, with Linda staying with us this weekend, Brett playing in his hockey tournament and lots more. Went to a crazy kickboxing class after work and got a great workout. Then I came home, was really ambitious and did the dishes and laundry. I love getting a lot of stuff done in a short period of time. I've got lots of reading to catch up on, so it's off to bed for me. Cheerio!

    Back from Las Vegas

We just arrived home from a fantastic vacation in Las Vegas. Did lots of shopping and sightseeing. Checked out the outlet mall, saw Zumanity and the Mac King Comedy Magic show, Hoover Dam and went to the Ansel Adams display at the Bellagio Gallery of Fine Art. We were in Vegas with Corey, Carrie, Britani and Adam. Vegas is SO fun with friends! The weather was hot and sunny the entire time, apparently, it's been warmer than average. We celebrated Bryan's birthday in Vegas as well. Happy St. Patrick's Day this weekend!

    It's almost Friday!

It's been warming up here lately, I didn't even have to wear a jacket when I was going back to work after lunch. I'm going to take Zoe for walk since I haven't done that for quite some time now. Tomorrow is my favorite work day- Friday! For a couple of reasons- casual Friday, the one thing I really disliked about working at the previous place was not having casual Fridays. And that it's the last work day before the weekend! I've got lots of errands to run and I need to get the house cleaned as well. Ick. Not my favorite thing to do, it's nice to own a house with lots of space, but cleaning it sure sucks! I think I'm going to get some professional cleaners to give it a good Spring clean. And then maybe a couple of times a year after that. Work has been coming along pretty well, I'm pretty much done with attending the series of classes that I need to and in a couple of weeks, I'll be training my own classes. Still need to prep for them before I do. My plans for tonight are to walk Zoe, read as much as I can of Nature Girl, cook and eat dinner (rice, veggies and eggs- it's a Malaysian thing...) and do some laundry. I feel extra motivated tonight!  Last night, I took a great hip hop group fitness class at Lifetime. Best fitness class I've ever been to, good music, energetic instructors, great moves. Sure beats stretching with an elastic band or doing downward facing dog all of the time. BORING! Thought to ponder: why is it that the girls who like to shake their hips and belly dance and all that are never the ones you really want to watch? Or maybe it's because the other girls don't have hips. Hmmm.

    Auto ins

So after looking up investments and going to the Berkshire Hathaway website, I decided to listen to Warren Buffet and got a rate quote for auto insurance from Geico (yup, those folks with the gecko). I was pretty skeptical to begin with, but after I completed the quote, it turns out we could save about 45% on what we are currently paying. Crazy! That's quite a lot of money, especially in the long run. I'm surprised that by shopping around a bit, how much money we could save. On another website, I read that Geico is very favorable towards government employees, professionals, those who aren't too young or too old and individuals with a clean driving record. Makes sense! I know that I sound like a walking advertisement, but I'm just that impressed.  Hopefully, they have decent customer service. If anyone has had any experience with them before, let me know!

    Snow days

This has been quite an interesting week, we received about 18 inches of snow over two days. That was enough for my office to call a snow day on Thursday and have us go home at 1pm. It snowed non-stop through Thursday evening and on Friday morning, work was delayed for two hours in the morning. Feels like we have a longer weekend because of this weather! Spent most of the time relaxing, watching movies, reading and hanging out with Bryan and Zoe. Zoe had her annual check up and vaccinations this weekend, which she really did not enjoy. Today, Bryan and I went to Southdale to do some shopping before our Vegas trip. I picked up a pair of Crocs flip flops that I need to break in before we walk miles and miles in Vegas. After that, we headed to Carter's first birthday party, which was fun! Later in the afternoon, Bryan and I went to the Home and Garden Show at the Minneapolis Convention Center and walked around for hours, checking out the patios, decks, gardens, windows, granite counter tops, etc. If you've ever been curious as to what you don't have, just look around at that show. We did pick up a couple of those rubber brooms, tried it out when we got home and it works pretty well! Derek arrived this evening and we went out for dinner. Now I'm exhausted. Need to get to bed.
