March 29 Official! It's official. Bryan and I are now homeowners. The closing took about an hour and it was a breeze! Everyone really did a great job for us- our real estate agent, our mortgage guy and the closer. Everything was explained to us and they did a great job of answering questions. After the closing, we took Zoe to the house and she went into each room and sniffed around. I'm going to clean the place up before we move our things in this weekend. Yay!! March 27 New address! We completed our final walk-thru of the house last night and things are going well for our closing tomorrow afternoon. Everyone has been a great help. If you would like to have our new address, please email me. We are going to be moving into our new place this weekend. Yay! March 26 Counting down the daysOnly two days until we close on our first home. Getting very excited to move it! Bryan and I are sitting at Dunn Bros. right now, Bryan is reading Angels and Demons
Work is doing well for both of us, still enjoying our jobs. Have been there for about a month now. Keeping us pretty busy. I wish MSN Spaces would fix the Photo uploading tool so I can get my Vegas pictures, our new house pictures and Zoe's birthday party pictures uploaded! Annoying that it doesn't work! I'm going to go buy a Sunday newspaper... cheerio! March 22 First classNo, literally, I mean first class. This week, I am teaching my first new hire orientation class. It's just one person and I think it's going pretty well. Still need to get all of my information together and flowing better, but that will just take experience. Bryan and I are at the Eden Prairie Library right now. This used to be a Lunds supermarket. The inside still reminds me of a supermarket. Really nice facility though. Jennie is in Fargo tonight. Zoe is at home, waiting for us. Bryan is writing up a letter to give to the bank. I'm just wasting time on the Internet on Friendster and MySpace. Wow, it's amazing how much time a person can waste on those sites! I can't wait till I have my OWN home Internet connection. And maybe even HBO. So we can watch the Sopranos again, just like we used to
At work, we are collecting bunnies to donate to the children's hospitals for Easter. Bunnies are sprouting up everywhere, in all of the cubes. I've contributed my share. It's a competition between the different departments to see who can collect the most number of bunnies. It's great that we are doing something to contribute to the community. I filled a prescription today and my co-pay was SO low!! We have AWESOME health insurance and prescription coverage! With my previous insurance, I paid over 4 times what I pay now.
I haven't read a book in a while, I had a few books on request at the library but nothing is in yet. I'm trying to find a good book to read- anyone have any recommendations? Let me know. The weather has been decent this past week. I can't wait till the lovely Spring and Summer weather come around! I really enjoy longer days. There's nothing like sunshine at 9:30PM! Just need some good shades if you are planning to get any sleep in the morning.
It's already hump day. I used to think that was the most annoying Wednesday nickname, but now I use it. Two days till the weekend. Almost homeownersLess than a week before we close on our house. Bryan and I are getting really excited to move in! Everything on our home loan is coming along well. Zoe's birthday was on Monday and I took her to Chuck and Don's Pet Food Outlet and got some treats. Yum. This weekend, we are going to a golf event at the Mall of America. The weekend after, Bryan and Mike are going up to Grand Forks and the cabin to move our things. I can't wait till our house warming party!!
We are thinking of going back to Malaysia for a trip sometime at the end of this year. I hope it works out for us to go. Bryan still hasn't met my extended family yet and I've known his for years! We would also try to make it to Shaniz's wedding in November. It would be really fun to get back there again. We would go scuba diving too. Yay! Too bad we can't bring the Zoe dog with us. Dang quarantine rules.
Other good news, Nicole just got a new job. Congrats! I'm so excited for her. March 18 Weekend!St. Patrick's Day was fun- we went to the Lodge downtown to meet Britani and Adam. On Saturday, Bryan and I went to a golf club regripping class at Golf Galaxy. Then, we headed over to the Mall America, where we met up with Britani and Adam at Tiger Sushi and had lunch. Britani and I then went to a scrapbooking class at Archiver's, where we made a checkbook cover, to-do list, scrapbook page and greeting card. It was really fun. Right now, we are at the Marshall's house. The UND/SCSU hockey game is on right now and UND is in the lead. I hope they win! It's nice to be associated with a winning team!
Work has been going well. Keeping me quite busy. Bryan is also enjoying his job. We are getting really excited to close on our house and move in. We are trying to figure out how we are going to get our stuff moved down from East Grand Forks and the cabin. Hope everything works out for us to move.
Zoe's birthday is on Monday! She will be turning 6 years old. Her birthday present is a Dingo- she LOVES those treats!! March 16 Bombardment!Bombardment! Bombardment! (anyone else watch the Simpons?) Tomorrow is Friday. Yay! Got lots of things planned for this weekend. Only 12 days until we close on our house. We are getting really excited to move in. Still have to gather up all of the documents we need to bring to closing. It's been snowing, yet again. On Monday, we got a huge storm that kind of shut down the entire metro area. It's not as bad today. My commute was only about 45 minutes, instead of the 1 hr and 15 minutes that it was on Monday. I'm listening to a bit of KoRn on my iPod. Monday is Zoe's 6th birthday. Bryan and I are thinking of taking a trip to Malaysia in November. I've got to look up plane tickets. Shaniz's wedding is in November and if we are back home, we will have to hit that up. Anyway, have a great weekend everyone! :) March 14 Busy busyTesting testing. I'm trying this email blogging thing instead of the traditional way of posting messages. Today is Bryan's birthday! We are going out to eat at Wildfire to celebrate. I'm going to run some errands after work before I go home. Britani and Adam are coming to the Twin Cities this weekend for a visit. Friday is St. Patrick's Day and I don't know if I have something green to wear. I know I have four leaf clover earrings, I'll have to look around for a shirt. Other good news, Kim just got engaged! How exciting! The wedding will be in August and she has graciously asked me to be her maid of honor. I'm looking forward to helping plan the wedding. Only four and a half months away. Yay! March 11 LostSo I've been completely addicted to Lost. What a great show! Richard lent me the first season on DVD and I've been watching 3-4 episodes a night. Bryan and I have been busy with work. Been working at our jobs for two weeks now. Enjoying it. We are really looking forward to closing on our house on March 28. We are going furniture shopping later today. Bryan wants the computer, so I'll just write more later! March 05 Sunday morningSunday morning. Bryan made me breakfast! How sweet. I slept in this morning. The weather has been wet and gloomy, kind of foggy. I think I'm going to go walk around the Mall of America and Ikea. Maybe get some decorating ideas. Don't have too much on my agenda today. Mary and her family will be coming down to St. Paul for the high school hockey tournaments this weekend. Becki, Jennie and I are having lunch on Saturday for a girls' day out. Yesterday, we went to lunch with David downtown at a new place called Shakers on Nicollete. Good food and very afforable prices. Then, we walked over to the gigantic Home and Garden Show, where we got plenty of ideas of what we would like if we were to magically win the lottery. Really beautiful stone fireplaces, gazebos, huge hot tubs, super-duper extension ladders (which Bryan really wants) and all sorts of other home-related stuff. The show took up almost the ENTIRE convention center, which is HUGE. We walked through most of it and it took us about 3 hours. Later that night, we met up with Bryan's aunt Debby, uncle Mike and cousin Stephanie at TGIF for dinner. A very busy Saturday. Going to relax on this wet Sunday before we have to start another work week.
Went to the Mall of America to walk around and over to Ikea to get some decorating ideas for the new place. Ran into Matt and Jennie there and browsed around with them. Right now I'm at the Marshall family's house. They had Bryan and I over for roast and mashed potatoes. YUM! March 04 Home inspectionThis morning, we had our home inspection done. It went really well. The house was built in 1918, but has been updated quite a bit. Everything is in good condition. Our home inspector did a great job. If anyone is buying a home and needs and inspection, use Erik- www.elwoodhomeinspections.com. He is very good at what he does. Jennie, Tyler and Jess came over to take a look around. We can't wait to move in and start entertaining! Right now, I'm at Bryan's cousin David's condo in downtown Minneapolis. We are going out for lunch and then to the Minneapolis Home and Garden at the Convention Center.
First week of work went well. Lots of things to learn! Everyone is very welcoming and friendly. March 03 We got the house! It's official! The sellers accepted our offer! We have our house inspection tomorrow morning and we will close on it March 28 (sign all the paperwork, pay for it and get the keys). YAY!! Work has been busy. Both Bryan and I are enjoying our new jobs. I am enjoying being back in the Twin Cities with it's milder weather. It was 45 degrees on Wednesday and I see that GF is having some winter warnings for snow- 6 inches. Yuck. Went to the Golf Show at the Metrodome last weekend. This weekend, there is a Home and Garden show at the Convention Center. Maybe we'll go check that out. |
