Nah, but sometimes it's interesting how true it can be Final week at workIt’s been an interesting week at work, packing up my things, giving away my office supplies to my cube mate and having lunch with co-workers and friends while I have the chance. Trust me, they are all making it pretty hard to leave, unlike my previous experience, where it was more like, “don’t let the door hit you on the way out!” Dang. Anyway, I’m getting really excited for the Pampered Chef party that Carrie and I are co-hosting. I’ve purchased all the beverages and I’m planning to give the house a good cleaning on Thursday evening. We have had lots of RSVPs for the event and it’ll be fun to hang out with everyone. On Saturday, I’m planning on hanging out with Steph, I’d like to do some shopping, get some new clothes for the new job and go somewhere fun for lunch. On Sunday, Zoe D Dog is getting the puppy spa treatment aka going to PetSmart and getting a cut and color (just kidding, more like a wash and cut). Then of course, it’s Superbowl Sunday! We’ll be heading to Corey and Carrie’s house to watch the game on their new TV. I’m looking forward to the commercials, food and friends. Oh and to the Patriots not winning it this year. Yay! Don’t really care if the Bears or Colts win it. Then of course, on Monday, I begin my new career at Medica as a Technical Trainer. I’m excited to start and to meet the team that I’ll be working with. And not to mention, VERY excited for the short commute. Spent 40 minutes in traffic this morning, there was a car overturned on the shoulder of the interstate, then followed by one car halfway underneath another car in the middle lane. What a weird traffic day. For some reason that I cannot understand, traffic is always the worst on Tuesdays. Maybe because most people take Fridays and Mondays off work? 1月28日 Great weekend!Ahh, what a fantastic weekend! Triple Espresso was hilarious- I laughed until I cried. After the show, we met up with David (who is graduating from law school in May!) and the Marshalls at Buca Di Beppo for dinner. Last night, we went bowling in Eden Prairie and I bowled probably the second best game of my life.
 Back to work tomorrow for another week. Got lots of things to look forward to- Pampered Chef party, Superbowl party at Corey and Carrie's house, starting the new job at Medica, my birthday coming up. Can't believe that it's already the end of January. Where did time go?? It's going to be Spring before we even know it.  . I think I'm ready to make the next step in my career. Woop!On Thursday night, Linda and Grandma Hanson got into town. After work, we picked them up from their hotel downtown and went to see The Miracle Worker at the Torch Theatre. Pretty impressive small production in a warehouse-type playhouse. Last night, we all met at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre for some good eats and Grease. GO GREASE LIGHTNING! Today, we are just hanging out, going to the Mall of America and meeting for lunch and bowling later in the day. Tomorrow, we are going to Triple Espresso at the Music Box Theatre downtown. It's been a weekend of shows.

Yeah, a few of them, but I wouldn't mind a new one 1月22日 New job!Latest news: Today at work, I put in my notice of resignation. I accepted a Technical Trainer position with Medica (health insurance) and will start with them on February 5. It’ll be sort of the same thing as I’m doing right now- call center training, except on a larger scale. I’m sad to leave Allina, I’ve made some great friends there and it’s a great place to work. But of course, I’m excited to start at Medica. The training team seems like a lively bunch, I’m looking forward to moving up the training career corporate ladder, I’ll have a REALLY short commute, as the office is only 1.4 miles from my house, or about a 4 minute drive (YAY!). Also, free parking, better neighborhood and no more wasting money on gas and wear and tear on the car.
Last weekend was pretty fun. On Friday, went to play Bunco with Carrie and some of her friends. I won! Woohoo! On Saturday, Carrie, Corey and Carter came over with Buca di Beppo food for lunch and we hung out. After that, I went to the Mall of America with Jennie to check out the world’s largest tulip festival. Then, we went to Buffalo Wild Wings for dinner. On Sunday, Bryan and I lazed around for most of the day. We got a couple of inches of snow during the afternoon. In the evening, Veronica and Justin came over for pizza and played Yahtzee. It must have been quite the weekend of me and dice games, because I won!
This weekend, Linda and Grandma Hanson will be in town. We will be going with them to a play called Miracle Worker about Helen Keller, Grease at the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre and Triple Espresso. What do you wear to sleep? 1月15日 The Suite Life of Karen and KarenWow, it’s been quite the week. Kim and Richie arrived from Grand Forks on Wednesday evening and stayed at our house until Saturday. On Friday, we met up and did some shopping and a group of us met for dinner at Big Bowl. On Saturday, I went for a two hour newbie yoga class at Lifetime and the next day, I was aching all over! In the evening, Bryan and I went to Hooters in Burnsville with Corey, Carrie and Carter. The food was good, the service wasn’t. Still had a fun time. On Sunday, Bryan and I met up with Veronica and Justin at TGI Friday’s for lunch. Before that, we ran some errands (not that exciting) and lazed around the rest of the day. Another busy week up ahead. Random tidbit: today is Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. day. I’m getting a haircut after work and we are in desperate need of some groceries. The fridge is getting pretty bare. On Wednesday, I’m attending a Humane Society volunteer orientation, which I’m excited about, so I’ll get to hang out with the animals there. On Friday, I’m (possibly) going to a Bunco party with Carrie. I need to read up on the rules before I go, so I don’t look like I have no idea what I’m doing. And this weekend, Britani, Adam and the pups will be here. Yay! I’ll have to get Zoe prettied up before her boyfriend, Napoleon arrives. Fun-filled and packed, before I start a super busy week at work. There's a new employee starting that I'll be training in, so I'm not going to have much downtime. On Friday night, Bryan and I went to Eric and Denise's house in Mound for their post-New Year's Eve party, which was canceled because of the blizzard we got that day. Had a good time hanging out with everyone, meeting some of their friend's and eating appetizers. On Saturday, I met Jennie, Veronica and Denise at the General Store of Minnetonka for lunch and some shopping. We also hit up Ridgedale to check out the sales going on. Seems like every single store is having a sale right now. That evening, Bryan and I met up with Corey, Carrie and Adam to go bowling. Then we stayed up late into the night at Corey and Carrie's house, playing an endless game of darts! Congrats to Carrie who hit the winning bullseye.  On Sunday, we slept in late, I run some errands and Rich came over and we watched TV and went out to Cub to pick up some of the new Kemps Caribou Coffee ice cream, which is very tasty! WHAT IS THE LAST THING YOU PURCHASED? snack from the cafe at work 1月2日 Happy New Year 2007 Happy New Year! Hope that everyone had a good time ringing in the new year. Bryan and I had a fun-filled weekend. We started Friday night babysitting the cutest baby in the world- Carter. We watched the Lion King, ate Cheerios and played. On Saturday, we cleaned the house before our guests arrived on Sunday. We got some crazy rain storms on Sunday morning, which became lots of snow in the afternoon. Britani, Adam, Napoleon and Lola arrived in the later afternoon and we headed out to Fuji-Ya in Uptown for sushi with a big group of friends. The roads were pretty slushy, but they did a good job of clearing them quickly. The food was fantastic and then we all headed back to our place to watch the ball drop on TV and to count down to 2007.On an unrelated note, Carrie and I are co-hosting a Pampered Chef party on Friday, February 2, 2007 at 7:00PM if anyone is interested in coming!
